Amaya spells!

So it goes with out saying that I think my children are amazing, it's just kind of how biology works.  But my sweet little three year old is accumulating some hard proof in regards to the case for her being a genius.  I submit here, exhibit A.  Osito is her beloved bear (Osito is "little bear" in Spanish) and during a recent art session, she decided to label her work. The O-S-E-T-O, is her sounding out his name. The purple crayon was John demonstrating the "correct" (who cares) way to write his name and his artistic interpretation as well.  The purple BER on the bottom is her spelling out "Bear".  I love that she is loving words, reading and now spelling.  There are a million reasons to love her (and a thousand ways she drives me crazy), but this is just one more.

Sometimes (who am I kidding, most of the time) it's really hard to get them all to be still at the same time long enough for a picture.

Amaya reads

Hey there Amaya's grandparents! If you are short on things to brag about, here's one.  Amaya's reading.  Three years old, reading.  She hasn't quite got to Gertrude Stein yet, but she's plowing through these Bob books, (Thanks Grandma).

This is her favorite page so far:

She gets that it's hilarious.  She's amazing.

(It's long and unedited, and she gets distracted repeatedly, but I'm sure you can be forgiving, she is, after all, only 3.)
