Amaya + Pool

We took Amaya for her first swim the other day with her cousins. I think she liked it.

Amaya's New Perspective

I have a feeling this is sooo going to be her favorite spot.

First Foods

I originally intended to wait until Amaya was a full 6 months old before starting her on solids, but she is obsessed with food, she just stares at it and drools while we are eating. We gave her a fingertip of hummus when we were out to eat (she seemed to enjoy it), and I realized I'd better start her on food intended for babies before I was tempted again.


Her first try of Rice cereal, we figured we should use her little silver spoon for such a momentous occasion.



She got it pretty quickly.



A few days later, she really has the hang of it now.


But, yet, is so much messier.

Babysat

I get pretty excited on my days off to just be able to be with my baby all day, but we knew that she wasn't going to enjoy the Bon Iver show and John and were both giddy to finally see them live. Amber decided not to go to the show and volunteered to babysit. I was afraid she was just going to scream the whole time and Amber wouldn't be our friend anymore. But she said everything went well and Amaya even slept! See her whole blog post about it here.

Walks

I try to go out on a walk every day with Amaya While Jena is at work. I took a little point and shoot film camera with us the other day and I guess I hadn't realized how many pictures of her in the stroller I took because I just kept taking them.

Amaya's First BBQ

We bought ourselves a little BBQ and some D.I. patio furniture a while back, but we've finally got around to using them. John made delicious steaks and we threw pretty much every vegetable we could find on there as well. Amaya still on a liquid diet, so she may not have enjoyed the food, but she seemed to enjoy the rest of the BBQ experience.




Too hot for pajamas.

Amayan Conversations

I love how much Amaya has been "talking" lately. It usually means she's in a good mood and wants to play. In addition to the "ooh"s, "eh"s and "crrr"s, she's been doing cute little coughs, just because she can.
