Peach Festival

We braved the ridiculous heat and went to the Peach Festival with Ryan and Emily and even picked our own peaches.

From The iPhone

Jena's busy so I had to get the pictures she took on her iPhone and post them myself.

At the hospital they implanted knowledge of kung fu, social theory, and bioforensics. Uh... I mean, did her hearing test:

This kid sleeps a ton. Except when you really want her to sleep.

The only onsies we have that fit Lilia are ones that we bought when Jena was pregnant with Amaya and we thought we were having a boy. So when we go out everyone assumes Lilia is a boy. It doesn't really bother us so we usually don't correct them. When she was posing for these pictures I couldn't help but think of SeƱor Chang.

At Home, Still Busy Busy

A few more Holga shots, this time from Saguaro Lake:

Lilia seems to be getting used to being outside of the womb. When she isn't sleeping she's watching everything and will stare at you with soul-searching intesity. Amaya caught some bug that despite having made her throw up a few times, doesn't seem to slow her down. Last time she got sick she was down for the day. Not this time. I think she even threw up more this time, but she still wants to run around and play on the swing and be as loud as possible.

It's still really weird to think we are a family of four now.

Farmer's Market

A few weeks ago we went to the Gilbert Farmer's Market. They had a little petting zoo and we thought Amaya might like it. She got kind of freaked out at first but then warmed up to the animals after she saw they would only just lay there.

Lilia Verano Garrard

Lilia is finally here! Jena went past her due date to where the Dr. recommended she break her water to avoid having to do a c-section. We showed up to the hospital for our water-breaking appointment Wednesday (May 4th) morning and waited a little while during which they monitored Jena and the baby. At around 11am the Dr. came and did what she needed to do and then we waited. Not too long after, some good contractions started, followed by some pushing and at 10:38 Lilia got off the labor train to rest on mommy's chest.

Pictures of the birth (no lady parts, I promise) soon!
