Self-feeding and a Sharing Habit

Amaya still prefers to throw the little cheerio-puff things, but if I give her a big chunk of a banana she will cheerfully gum off little bites until it's pretty much gone.

And my sweet little baby already loves to share. As an extention of her new favorite trick, putting her toys in our mouths, she offers us some (slightly slimy) banana.

And I looked at her today and realized she is not my tiny baby anymore.
When did this happen?

Just Because

When I'm at work I miss looking at her cute face, thank goodness for the internet.

Practicing for Senior Pictures

Right after she toppled and bonked her head, can you see those little tears in her eyes?

The Scarecrow Festival

Amaya's favorite thing was the table cloth, to be expected.

And then came home and took a bath (my favorite part of this picture is her little toes sticking up).

To the Zoo!

Amaya seemed to enjoy it, but I loved it.

Halfway There

I know I said I didn't want her to crawl yet. But that was out of selfishness--I don't want to have to baby-proof the house.

I have since changed my mind and I do everything I can to persuade Amaya to crawl, it's just such a cute way to get around.

This is as close as she has come, but it's quite a bit of progress, any time she is on her stomach (or hands even) she usually just instinctively rolls over.

And again, more pictures for no reason.

An Indoor Winter

I can't wait to be in a house were WE control the thermostat. We're dying here.

(This was the little hat the hospital gave us when Amaya was born. At the time, her entire body fit in it.)

And then for no reason at all, more pictures.

Summer of Grandparents Part 3

Then, in September Dad and Nan came out to visit as well.

Amaya gets excited to see Cody, and Cody's not afraid of Amaya anymore.

Summer of Grandparents Part 2

Then, in September, we went to Washington to visit my family and for John to take some pictures for my mother's website.

Amaya loved taking a bath in mom's big sink.

And someone finally took a picture of me with my baby.

Unfortunately, we didn't have a crib, so we improvised. Yes, it's a suitcase, but we tried to make it as much like her crib as possible. Which wasn't very much.

A Grandparent Summer Part 1

In August, Abuela Maria was in town for a few weeks.

While John played with his new guitar...

Amaya played her little piano and Brazilian drum with her cousins.

We all went to Idaho for the weekend and had a barbeque at city of rocks with Amaya's great-grandma Vadna.
