The High Chair

Lately Amaya is tired of her little recliner chair. When we put her in it she strains her little stomach muscles trying to sit up for real. And she hates being all the way down there while we are all the way up here. Solution: high chair. So, on the way home from visiting Cody, we stopped at Ikea and picked up this lovely high chair:

Amaya smiles pretty much any time someone will look at her, so I'm not sure if this is because she is having her picture taken , or because she really does like the chair.

Even though she likes sitting up strait, she still hasn't really mastered it, thus the protective packaging around her (again, thank you Amber for the BundleMe.)

And so she got to enjoy breakfast with us (as just a spectator, of course.)

A visit to uncle Cody

My brother, Cody, is going to school up in West Jordan, so we stopped by to visit on saturday. He hadn't seen Amaya in a few months and he kept saying, "Wow, her cheeks got so fat." Yes they did, yes they did.

Family Resemblance

My uncle Travis put some old pictures on his facebook (so techno-savvy) and now we can further decide if Amaya looks like me or not. I vote yes-ish.

Grandma Katherine and Jena (age: baby)

Blessing Certificate

Today in church they finally gave us Amaya's blessing certificate.

Apparently, Amaya's real mom is someone I've never met.

I love the pictures John takes of Amaya. I love the pictures that John takes of anything.

View from the Carseat: Idaho, St. George..What else? Why not.

Getting to know grandma Garrard before we leave for Idaho.

At a park in Idaho, sadly I think this is the only non-carseat shot I took.

At home for a bit, John learns to love this thing. Pirate face.

Amaya's first Myspace self-portrait in the car again on the way to St. George for Brenda's wedding (which gets its own post).

Co-pilot.

A break from the car, a park in St. George.

Unconsolable. Ohhh, baby eczema. Not fun.

One of many carseat shots (nothing else to do, Amaya being all cute).

On the way back (mind you, this is after probably 30+ hours in the car in two weeks) we discovered my camera has a feature where it waits until you smile (it somehow detects it) and then automatically takes the picture. For John he had to smile this big to get it to detect him (yes, this is while he's driving, and I'm laughing so hard I have to cross my legs to prevent, well, you know).

For me, it has to be this big:

For Amaya, it's this big:

For those that don't get to see Amaya on her bad days, here's a little clip of her miserable in her car seat. This is how she cries.
